Watch: Dylan Watts brings title race to final day as Shamrock Rovers narrowly see off Dundalk
Dylan Watts struck in the second half as Shamrock Rovers edged past Dundalk to bring the Premier Division title race to the final day of the season.
The Hoops had to defeat the already-relegated Lilywhites to keep their slim hopes of a fifth league title in a row alive - and they did.
But it was not an easy victory for the Hoops.
Jad Hakiki went close early on for Dundalk in the first half as he saw a volley crash off the bar following a corner-kick.
Robbie Mahon also forced a fine save from Rovers stopper Leon Pohls just before the break.
Rovers emerged a much-improved side in the second period and should have taken the lead within seconds of the restart when Johnny Kenny inexplicably shot wide from close range.

But they were ahead before the hour when Watts netted after Dundalk failed to clear a set-piece.
Aaron Greene and Watts had further chances to seal it but one goal was enough for the Hoops.
Rovers must win on the final day and hope Shelbourne drop points away to Derry City to win a fifth title in a row.
