James O’Callaghan steps down as Peamount United boss after eight years in charge
Peamount United boss James O’Callaghan has confirmed that he has left the PRL Park outfit after a success-laden eight year spell in charge.
The Dubliner took over the reins of the club from Eileen Gleeson in 2014 and won three league titles at the helm, alongside a WNL Cup and Women’s FAI Cup.
O'Callaghan won his first title with the Peas in 2019 before repeating the feat in 2020. They had to wait until 2023 to win it again.
Peamount finished sixth this season but impressed in the Champions League with a historic win Dinamo Minsk before losing to Croatians Osijek.
"After 11 incredible years with Peamount United, including eight seasons as senior manager, my time has come to step down," O'Callaghan said.
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the wonderful people connected to this unique club. To the players, the committee, and volunteers, you are the heart and soul of this true giant of women's football in this country.
"I'm most proud of the togetherness, values, culture and family environment we've created."
