Shelbourne snapped a six-game losing run on Friday night when they dismissed Waterford 3-1 at Tolka Park.

The Reds failed to win a league game since August 30th away to Dundalk prior to their showdown against the Blues - which was aired live on Virgin Media.

And fans of Damien Duff’s side will likely have been panicking when their team fell behind in the first half following Padraig Amond’s spot-kick.

But a brace from Sean Boyd and a further goal from winger Liam Burt turned the game on its head and handed the Tolka Park outfit all three points.

If Shels win their remaining two games of the season, they will be crowned Premier Division champions for the first time since 2006.
