Sean Russell appointed new Treaty United boss
Treaty United have unveiled Sean Russell as their new senior women’s team boss ahead of the 2025 season.
Russell served as the Shannonsiders under-17 manager this term and has signed a multi-year deal to replace outgoing Dominic Foley.
Russell - son of former UCD manager Martin - played in the League of Ireland men’s set-up across a nine-year spell with club such as Limerick FC, Longford Town, Shelbourne, Drogheda United and Galway United.
“Sean has worked with our academy teams over the last few months,” CEO Ciara McCormack said.
“His passion for coaching and ability to develop players is at some of the highest levels I have ever seen.
“As we look to integrate local players into our senior team and build our club into one that is challenging for titles, Sean stood out as someone we feel confident can help us do that in the years to come.”
And Russell added: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role, it’s been a big ambition of mine, I’ve been working towards this over the past few years, it’s a proud moment.
“What is important is setting high standards, every single day, every single session, every single game, this will result in positive actions, and we will get to where we want to be.”
