Bray Wanderers playoff spot confirmed after ten-man Wexford defeat Finn Harps
Bray Wanderers will contest the First Division playoff series after Wexford ran out 3-1 winners over Finn Harps on Monday evening.
Harps had to win to take the playoff race to the final day of the season but were unable to do so despite taking the lead through right-back Jamie Watson.
Watson handed the Co Donegal side a 24th-minute advantage though they were pegged back in the 38th minute when Cian O’Malley netted for the Slaneysiders.

Just moments later James Crawford was dismissed following a second yellow card.
That meant Wexford - already without Ethan Boyle and Aaron Dobbs - had to play the rest of the game with a man less.
But that mattered little when Darragh Levingston scored for Wexford on the stroke of half-time to put them 2-1 ahead.
And in the second half, Cian Curtis scored from the penalty spot to seal it for James Keddy’s troops.

As a result, Finn Harps can no longer can fifth-placed Bray - ensuring the Seagulls reached the playoffs for the first time since the 2021 campaign.
The Carlisle Grounds cannot finish above fifth though.
They will join Wexford, UCD and Athlone Town in the First Division finale set to take place over the coming weeks.
