Referee Rob Harvey heads to Copenhagen to add to Irish interest in Conference League this week
Having earlier this season officiated a UEFA Conference League second round qualifier, League of Ireland whistler Rob Harvey has been handed a high profile trip to referee Copenhagen’s home game against Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok on Thursday night.
Wayne McDonnell and Robert Clarke will run the line while Rob Hennessy will act as fourth official in Denmark.
Back in July, Harvey took charge of the qualifier between St. Gallen and Tobol (the Kazakhstani team who eliminated Derry City on penalties in the third qualifying round tie last year).
He has experience in this phase of UEFA competition before having officiated Europa Conference League group games in September 2022 (Slovako v Partizan Belgrade), November 2021 (Flora Tallinn v Partizan Belgrade) and September 2021 (Lincoln Red Imps v PAOK).
In October 2019 he was referee in the Europa League group game between Malmo and Lugano.
