League Preview: Wexford -v- UCD
WEXFORD
Playoff hopefuls Wexford are set for a stern test of their credentials on Friday night when UCD visit Ferrycarrig Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Slaneysiders are fifth and just three points ahead of sixth-placed Finn Harps in the battle for the final top-five place which will secure a playoff.
And while they have an FAI Cup semi-final clash with Drogheda United to look forward to next week, they have work to do.
James Keddy’s men fell to a sobering 3-0 loss away to Longford Town last Saturday and must now react to their first league defeat since July 26th.
Goalkeeper Conor Walsh was sent off against Longford and will be suspended for Friday’s game.
UCD
With a playoff spot all but secured, UCD will be looking to build some momentum heading into the season finale at Belfield.
The Students were beaten 1-0 away to Athlone Town on Monday after defeating Cobh Ramblers 2-0 at home on Friday previous.
But the damage was limited for Willie O’Connor’s side who remain in second.
They also boast a near fully fit squad with Ciaran Behan now back in contention after suffering recent injuries.
The Students have not reported any further team news.
Referee: Declan Toland.
