WATERFORD

European chasing Waterford host Galway United at the RSC on Friday in a crunch battle to determine who comes fourth (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Blues lost 3-0 away to St Patrick’s Athletic last weekend and sit in sixth place on 43 points with five league games remaining.

They are three points behind the Tribesmen in the table and know that fourth will only be enough for European football if Derry City win the FAI Cup.

But they have been boosted with goalkeeper Sam Sargeant back from injury. Kyle White remains absent with a hamstring injury.

GALWAY UNITED

Fourth placed Galway United visit the South-East off the back of a scoreless draw against Drogheda United on Monday night.

John Caulfield’s side had chances to win the game at Weavers Park but were unable to do so.

But it means they are now on 46 points after beating Shelbourne at home last weekend.

In terms of team news, Ed McCarthy and Jeannot Esua should be in contention again.

The latter was on the bench during the draw against Drogheda on Boyneside.

Referee: Paul Norton.
