League Preview: Drogheda United -v- Galway United
DROGHEDA UNITED
Drogheda United host European chasing Galway United at Weavers Park on Monday evening (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Boynesiders have won four of their last five games in all competitions and are on course to avoid automatic relegation from the top-flight - sitting four points clear of Dundalk with a game in hand.
They are also just five points behind eighth placed Bohemians as they look to avoid a relegation playoff - having defeated the Gypsies 1-0 on Friday night.
Their battle to avoid the drop continues on Monday and goalkeeper Luke Dennison is up for the challenge against Galway United
“Galway are a tough side,” he said. “John Caulfield and Ollie Horgan are top, top managers in the league for a reason and it'll be tough.
“But we’ll be playing in Weavers Park with a packed house.”
GALWAY UNITED
After defeating league leaders Shelbourne on Friday night, Galway United visit Weavers Park with a pep in their step.
Jimmy Keohane scored the winner for the Tribesmen against Damien Duff’s side and will be keen to help his side build on that triumph.
John Caulfield’s troops also know that a win over Drogheda would send them fourth and put them two points ahead of Sligo Rovers in the table.
And they will be confident they can achieve just that having won their last two against Drogheda - including a 3-2 away victory at Weavers Park.
Referee: Gavin Colfer.
