UCD

UCD will be looking to bounce back from their FAI Cup exit last weekend when they host Cobh Ramblers at the UCD Bowl on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Students were defeated 4-0 by Bohemians and also saw defender Niall Holohan sent off on the hour. The former Sligo Rovers man is now suspended for tonight’s game.

But UCD are sitting pretty in the First Division and are on course to secure a playoff place in the coming weeks with games against Athlone and Wexford to come next week.

“We have three games coming in a week but we have a really good squad,” boss Willie O’Connor told Dublin City FM’s Absolute Game.

#“Ciaran Behan and Mikey McCullagh are back and we have a few lads who weren’t even in the squad (against Bohemians).

“We’ll need all the players between now and the end of the season.

“They are all big games now and they are all different challenges. We’ll focus on Cobh first and look to get back to winning ways.”

COBH RAMBLERS

Out of playoff contention, Cobh Ramblers head to the capital looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Ramblers have been defeated by Cork City, Finn Harps and Wexford recently to all but end their slim hopes of securing a top-five finish.

But Gary Hunt’s side have already defeated UCD at Belfield this season ad can take confidence from that win.

Ramblers have not issued any team news for the game.

Referee: Ryan Maher.
