LSL Senior Sunday wrap: Leaders Kilbarrack United continue unbeaten start as Lucan United strike late to defeat St Francis

LSL Senior Sunday leaders Kilbarrack United remain top of the table following a late 1-0 triumph over Bangor Celtic on Friday night.

Ross Carrig’s men won four of their first prior to their recent clash against Bangor and managed to win their fifth game in six with a late show.

And it was Adetobi Jinadu who scored the winner with a 90th minute strike.

The goal was even more important with title rivals Lucan United also winning late against St Francis 2-1.

Keith Baker’s troops are further back in the table but have now won two of their last three after losing their first two outings this term.

Jack Savage handed Lucan a 1-0 lead early on in this one before Jude Bates - formerly of Wexford - equalising for the Saints.

But in the fourth minute of second half injury time, former Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers midfielder Mark Byrne netted the winner.

Second placedUsher Celtic also maintained their strong start to the campaign with a 3-1 win over basement side and FAI Intermediate Cup holders Glebe North.

Declan Brennan, Calvin Douglas and Gary Gannon were all on target against the Balbriggan side for Usher, with Ollie Hamzat netting a consolation.

At Jackson Park, Wayside Celtic fell to a narrow 3-2 loss at home to Tolka Rovers.

Ross Zambra’s Wayside have recently added striker Joe Doyle to their ranks and he scored for them on his debut alongside fellow former League of Ireland hitman Cian Fay.

But goals from Stephen Meaney, Dean Kelly and Aaron Townley won it for the North Dubliners.

St Mochta’s were also 3-2 victors over Malahide United at Gannon Park.

And Brian McCarthy’s side needed a last-gasp strike from Luke Kelly to claim all three points.

Gareth Craven handed Malahide an early lead before goals from Dean Casey and Michael Scott put Mochta’s ahead.

Sam Verdon then levelled for United before Kelly broke the hosts’ hearts to come out on top.

Elsewhere, UCD dismissed Maynooth Town 3-0 at home.

Louis Dignam, Robert Garvey and Andreas Djurhuus all scored for the Belfield side

And a double from Marco Chindea was not enough for Bluebell United to see off Killester Donnycarney.

The sides drew 2-2 with Daniel Bergin and Ronan Kilkenny scoring for the Hadden Park men.
