First Division wrap: Finn Harps move to within a point of play-offs as Cork City shrug off Kerry
Finn Harps closed the gap on the play-off positions with a narrow 1-0 victory over Longford Town on Friday night.
The Co Donegal side are now just one point behind fifth-placed Bray Wanderers.
Darren Murphy’s Harps won two on the spin prior to welcoming Longford to Finn Park, defeating Cobh Ramblers (2-0) and Athlone Town (4-1) to put them back in contention for a top five finish.
And Harps managed to back those back-to-back wins up with a victory over Longford Town.
Success Edogun scored the only goal of the game from the spot just minutes into the second-half.

Massive three points for the Harps as Success Edoguns penalty secures the victory here in Finn Park.
Huge thanks to our fantastic support in Finn Park for getting behind the team tonight in good numbers. #UTHpic.twitter.com/nnhOSRzGXO
Meanwhile, First Division champions Cork City shrugged off Kerry 4-1 at Mounthawk Park.
A hat-trick from Leeside attacker Barry Coffey was the difference between the teams, while Jack Doherty also scored.
Former Celtic youth Coffey opened the scoring in the 28th minute before doubling City’s advantage moments before the interval.
Doherty made it 3-0 shortly into the second period, while a spot-kick from Coffey completed the scoring for the Leesiders just past the hour mark.
Ethan Kos netted a 78th minute consolation for the Tralee-based men but it was far too little too late.
