WATERFORD

Waterford will be looking to pile the misery on relegation-threatened Dundalk on Friday night when the teams meet at the RSC on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Blues have already defeated Dundalk twice this season and have drawn in the other game between the teams.

They were 4-1 victors over the Lilywhites in May at the RSC and won the most recent clash 2-0 at Oriel Park with Connor Parsons and Dean McMenamy scoring.

Waterford are currently sixth in the table with 40 points to their name from 29 games played.

In terms of team news, Waterford will be without Sam Sargeant and Kyle White. Niall O’Keeffe and Adam Queally, however, are available again.

DUNDALK

After a turbulent week off the pitch, Dundalk have their sights set on claiming a valuable three points in their bid for top flight survival.

The Lilywhites confirmed last week that they are undergoing financial difficulties with players and coaching staff seeing their wages arrive late.

They are also bottom of the table and trailing ninth-placed Drogheda United by a point.

Josh O’Connor will miss the trip to the South-East after picking up an ankle injury in training on Thursday while Bobby Faulkner and Paul Doyle are sidelined.

“While everything has been brewing in the background we’ve been fully focused on the game in Waterford and hopefully we can go down there and give a really good account of ourselves,” winger Daryl Horgan told his club’s website on Thursday.

“If we can keep playing and working and do the stuff we know we can do then we believe we can stay in the Premier Division which, for the season that’s in it, would be a massive achievement.”

Referee: Rob Hennessy.
