Lorcan Fitzgerald ‘steps back’ from first-team coaching duties with Bray Wanderers
First Division Bray Wanderers have confirmed that Lorcan Fitzgerald has stepped aside from his role as first-team coach citing work and family commitments.
The former Shelbourne defender took over first-team duties at the Carlisle Grounds earlier this season alongside Paul Heffernan after former boss Ian Ryan left in May.
Fitzgerald leaves the Seagulls following a shock 1-0 loss to Longford Town on Friday night.
But Bray remain in a healthy position to secure a play-off place this season.
And a statement from Wanderers read: “It is with great regret that the club have accepted Lorcan Fitzgerald’s decision to take a step back from first-team duties due to work and family commitments.
“The club would like to thank him for all his efforts over the past two years.
“We would also like to wish Lorcan the very best for the future.
“Paul Heffernan will continue in his role in charge of first-team affairs.”
