Women’s Premier Division champions Peamount United began their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win in Croatia over Dinamo Minsk.

Ellen Dolan opened the scoring after seven minutes before Anna Sas scored the equaliser in the 33rd minute.

With the game level after 90 minutes, the match went to extra-time with Kerri Letmon grabbing what turned out to be the winner in the 96th minute.

With the Irish side having won this round one fixture in the qualifying round, they will play the host side Osijek on Saturday at 4pm in the qualifying final for this round.

The Croatian champions overcame Spartak Myjava 2-0 in the mini-tournament (9 of 11 in the Champions path).

Should the Peas win this weekend, they will move on to round 2 of the qualifiers where they will join the other 10 teams from the Champions Path, along with Slavia Prague, Roma and Hammarby.

The 14 sides will be paired off with those ties being played out over two legs with each team playing one leg at home. The first leg will be 18th/19th September and the second leg a week later on 25th/26th September.

The winners of each of the seven ties will earn a place in the Champions League group stage which begins in October.
