The Hoops knew who they were facing home and away after Friday’s draw but now know the dates and kick off times for their league stage matches in the Conference League.

UEFA reviewed all the matches across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League to avoid games being held on the same day in the same city before confirming the fixtures on Saturday evening.

The Hoops will kick off their campaign in Tallaght against APOEL at the start of October, before a trip up the M1 to Larne later in the month. Next is a home game against TNS in early November before rounding the month out in Vienna against Rapid.

Their final home game is against Boruc on 12 December and having missed out on the Christmas markets in Vienna, they can take in the holiday sights and sounds of London on 19 December when the end the league stage of the Conference League against Chelsea.

Glamour

“I think it’s a brilliant draw,” said Stephen Bradley speaking to shamrockrovers.ie. “It’s a mixture of everything, we have the glamour ties with Chelsea and Rapid, we also have games I feel will be winnable, so it will be really competitive.

“It has given us a mixture of everything. So it’s really exciting times to have them in front of us.”

“In Chelsea, you’re playing one of the biggest clubs in the world. Without being disrespectful to anyone else, Chelsea are probably the biggest club in the competition.

“It’s great we have this game for the fans who deserve a game like that. We were gutted when we played AC Milan (in 2020) and we couldn’t have our fans there to witness it.

“I’m sure we’ll have huge support in London for the Chelsea game, I’m delighted for the fans more so than anyone else.”
