Crystal Palace secure season-long loan for Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah
Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Trevoh Chalobah on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old defender, who is also capable of playing in midfield, will stay with the Eagles until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Chalobah, who joined Chelsea's youth academy at just nine years old, had his first experience in senior football during loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, and French side Lorient.
He made his breakthrough into Chelsea's first-team in the 2021/22 season. Over the past three seasons, Chalobah has made 80 appearances for Chelsea, finding the back of the net five times. In addition, he has represented England at the Under-21 level on three occasions.
Chalobah becomes Crystal Palace’s seventh signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaila Sarr, Maxence Lacroix, Eddie Nketiah, and Matt Turner.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Chalobah said, "I'm delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace. I know some of the boys in the squad well and I'm looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park."
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish also shared his enthusiasm about the new addition: "Trevoh is a talented young man and when the opportunity to bring him to Palace for the season arose, we were determined to seize it. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will be a great addition."
