Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Neto from Bournemouth on a season-long loan.

The 35-year-old, who has been a key player for Bournemouth since August 2022, arrives with a wealth of experience from top European clubs.

Neto, who made 63 appearances for the Cherries and was appointed club captain just six months after his arrival, expressed his excitement at joining Arsenal.

Speaking to arsenal.com, he shared, “I’m realising a dream in my life, a dream come true, and I’m really, really happy.”

The goalkeeper also revealed his childhood ambition to play for the Gunners.

"I had two dreams as a kid to play for a football team. It was my team in Brazil, where I grew up and became a professional footballer, and also Arsenal. And now I’m realising it! I’m a really lucky person," Neto added.

Addressing Arsenal fans, Neto said, “To all the supporters of Arsenal, I’d just like to say I’m one more fan here. My dream has come true, I’m really happy. Depend on me, I’ll give more than 100% to give everything for Arsenal.”

Neto began his professional career in Brazil with Athletico Paranaense, making his debut at 19. His impressive performances caught the attention of Fiorentina, where he moved in January 2011.

During his four years in Italy, Neto made over 100 appearances before signing for Juventus in 2015, where he enjoyed a successful stint, including winning five trophies.

In 2017, Neto switched to Spain, joining Valencia, and later moved to Barcelona, where he lifted the Copa del Rey in 2021. He joined Bournemouth in 2022, bringing his experience to the Premier League.

Internationally, Neto was part of Brazil’s squad for the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2015 Copa America.
