Tranmere Rovers bring in Irish goalkeeper Reuben Egan
Tranmere Rovers have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Reuben Egan on a one-year contract.
Egan, who has previously played for Athlone Town and Galway in Ireland, joins the club to provide additional cover for current goalkeeper Luke McGee.
Egan has been training with Tranmere Rovers since pre-season and has impressed the coaching staff. Manager Nigel Adkins expressed his satisfaction with the new addition, stating, "I’m delighted we have managed to sign young goalkeeper Reuben Egan who has been training with us since pre-season and has made a positive impression on us all."
Egan will also be working closely with veteran goalkeeper and player-coach Joe Murphy, who will play a key role in his development over the season.
Adkins added, "We are looking forward to seeing how he develops under Joe Murphy’s guidance over the coming season."
Reflecting on his move to Tranmere, Egan shared his excitement.
"It’s amazing, I’m delighted to be here. Nigel Adkins has been brilliant with me. Hopefully I’ll build up my experience, get involved and get a good season under my belt."
