Crystal Palace sign French defender Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg
Crystal Palace have secured the signing of French central defender Maxence Lacroix from VfL Wolfsburg on a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old joins the Premier League club after four successful seasons in the Bundesliga.
Lacroix, who began his professional career at Sochaux in France, moved to Wolfsburg in 2019.
Under the guidance of manager Oliver Glasner, he quickly established himself as a key player, helping Wolfsburg qualify for the UEFA Champions League in his debut season.
Over four seasons with the German club, he made 130 appearances and scored seven goals, four of which came last season.
In South London, Lacroix will be reunited with Glasner, who now manages Crystal Palace.
"It's like a dream for a young football player," Lacroix said of his move.
"I'm really happy to be here and join this good team. I watched Palace’s last games and I was really happy for the coach, because I’d played under him before. I think it’s the right moment to move to the Premier League."
Lacroix will wear the No. 5 shirt for Palace, becoming the club's fourth signing of the transfer window.
