Leyton Orient have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Josh Keeley on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old becomes the club's eighth addition this summer, following players like Sonny Perkins, Charlie Kelman, and Lewis Warrington.

Keeley began his career at St. Patrick's Athletic in Ireland before moving to Spurs in July 2022.

Since joining Tottenham, Keeley has been involved in the first-team setup and has participated in two pre-season tours. He has also played in Tottenham's U21 side over the past two seasons.

The young goalkeeper brings international experience to Leyton Orient, having made nine appearances for the Republic of Ireland's youth teams.

Recently, Keeley was named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for their upcoming matches against Turkey and Latvia, joining his fellow Tottenham player Ollie O'Neill.

Keeley had his first loan spell away from Spurs last season with Barnet, where he made 18 appearances and helped the team reach the National League play-offs.

Speaking about his move to Leyton Orient, Keeley expressed his excitement: "I'm absolutely delighted to get the move over the line. I couldn't be happier and I hope to achieve some really good things here. The team looks really strong, and I've watched some of the games so far this season. There are high goals for this squad and I can't wait to get going."

Keeley highlighted his playing style, saying, "I love to play with the ball at my feet, that is definitely one of my main strengths. I want to get involved with play with the outfielders and start attacks."

Head Coach Richie Wellens welcomed Keeley's arrival, emphasising the competition he would bring to the team.

"We're really pleased that Josh will be part of our squad for the 2024/25 campaign. He will come in to provide some real competition in our goalkeeping department. It's an important next step in his career, and we know that he will come in and give his all for the club."
