Wrexham AFC have announced the signing of Mo Faal, a promising 21-year-old striker from West Bromwich Albion.

Faal, originally from The Gambia, has agreed to a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027, with an option for an additional year.

Faal, who spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers and Walsall, made a strong impression by scoring 15 goals.

Reflecting on his move to Wrexham, Faal expressed his excitement, saying, "I have had a smile on my face since I've been here. I’m excited and thoroughly buzzing to be here - I can’t wait to get started."

He continued, highlighting Wrexham's recent rise in prominence, "I think everyone in the football world now knows just how big of a club this is, and where it wants to be. Ever since I heard about the project that has been going on here, it has been on an upwards trajectory."

Faal's football journey began after moving to England at the age of seven. He started his youth career at Sutton Coldfield Town before being scouted by West Brom.

He made his professional debut for West Bromwich Albion in August 2021 and gained valuable experience through loan spells at Hereford, AFC Telford United, and AFC Fylde, where he scored ten goals in 16 league games.

Faal has fond memories of playing at Wrexham's home ground, recalling, "I scored my first professional goal here, and when I came here it was an unbelievable place to play at. The fans are incredible, every single seat was filled. The atmosphere was rumbling and the stadium was absolutely buzzing - to finally be a part of that, it’s unbelievable."

Wrexham's manager, Phil Parkinson, also shared his enthusiasm about the new signing, stating, "I’m delighted to welcome Mo to the club. He’s an exciting young striker and has had a really good progression in his loan moves in the last couple of seasons; we’re really looking forward to working with him."
