League Preview: Bray Wanderers -v- Treaty United

BRAY WANDERERS

Bray Wanderers can copper-fasten their play-off spot on Friday night when they host Treaty United at the Carlisle Grounds (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Seagulls are fourth in the table and six points clear of sixth placed Cobh Ramblers having won three of their last four league games.

They are also nine points ahead of Friday’s opponents Treaty United who are slipping out of contention for a top-five berth.

But Bray have a couple of injury issues to contend with in defence with Jamie Duggan, Evan Osam and Paul Murphy all likely to miss Friday’s game.

They have also lost top scorer Peter Grogan to MLS side Austin in recent weeks.

However, they will be buoyed following last weekend’s 1-0 win over Athlone Town on the road with Spaniard Guillermo Almirall netting the winner.

TREATY UNITED

Treaty United know they must get a positive result away to Bray Wanderers if they are to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

The Shannonsiders are eight points off the top-five and know that time is running out to claw themselves back into contention.

They were also defeated 3-1 at home by Wexford last weekend despite taking a 1-0 lead.

“It’s difficult but you always have an outside chance to get in,” boss Tommy Barrett told the Limerick Leader on Treaty’s playoff hopes.

“Before (last week) there was an outside chance as well but we’ll keep plugging away.

“We’ll keep fighting and see if we can get a few results between now and the end of the season. “All we can do is try to finish as high up the table as we can.

“We have to go to Bray on Friday and they are a really good side in form. We’ll need to try get a result because we don’t want to go two or three games being beaten.”

Striker Trpimir Vrljicak will miss the game with a suspension.
