Liverpool have secured an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Italian forward Federico Chiesa. The 26-year-old has completed his medical and agreed on a long-term contract with the Reds.

Chiesa expressed his excitement about the move, telling Liverpoolfc.com, "I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, 'Do you want to join Liverpool?' – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans. So, I'm so happy and I can't wait to get started."

Chiesa brings a wealth of experience, having earned 51 caps for Italy and participating in Euro 2024 earlier this year.

He arrives from Juventus, where he played for four seasons, making 131 appearances.

The forward began his professional career at Fiorentina, progressing through the youth ranks to make his senior debut against Juventus in 2016.

Over four years at La Viola, he made 153 appearances and scored 34 goals. He then moved to Juventus in 2020 on a loan deal that became permanent in 2022.

Chiesa faced a significant setback during his second season in Turin, suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for nearly 10 months.

Despite this, he managed to bounce back and had a strong final season with Juventus, making 33 league appearances and scoring 10 goals across all competitions.

Internationally, Chiesa was a key player in Italy's Euro 2020-winning squad, featuring in all seven matches and scoring twice. His performances earned him a spot in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament. He also represented Italy at Euro 2024.

With his move to Anfield, Chiesa becomes the second signing of the Arne Slot era at Liverpool, following the recent agreement to bring Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia ahead of the 2025-26 season.
