Huddersfield Town have announced the loan signing of Joe Hodge from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the remainder of the season.

Hodge, who began his career at Manchester City's academy, transferred to Wolves in 2021.

Since then, he has made 13 appearances in all competitions, including six in the Premier League.

Last season, he gained Championship experience on loan at Queens Park Rangers, making eight league appearances.

Huddersfield Town's Sporting Director, Mark Cartwright, expressed his excitement about the new addition, stating, "We’re happy to welcome Joe to the club today, as he should play an important role for us this season. We have a longstanding admiration of Joe, and we’ve had to be patient amid a lot of interest from clubs in higher divisions and overseas to secure his signature. We believe he’s worth that wait as the missing piece in our midfield puzzle."

Head Coach Michael Duff also shared his thoughts on Hodge, describing him as "a very interesting talent" who plays in a deeper midfield role.

Duff added, "He’s excellent on the ball and has genuine creative flair, but he also enjoys the defensive side of the game, as you must in that area of the pitch. I think he adds a different set of attributes to our squad and gives me some really interesting options in a strong midfield."

Hodge himself is eager to get started and contribute to the team's success.

"I can't wait to come here, start playing, and hopefully get as many minutes as possible," he said.

"I hope I can help the team - I give everything, every time I'm playing. I can't wait to get started, hopefully this weekend."

On the international stage, the 21-year-old central midfielder has represented the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels, and has captained the Under-21 side.
