Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Ireland International Chiedozie Ogbene from Luton Town.

The 27-year-old winger, who played a significant role for the Hatters in the Premier League last season, has committed to a four-year contract at Portman Road.

Ogbene, who will don the number 21 shirt, is eager to start his journey with Ipswich.

"I'm very excited and feel lucky to have this opportunity to play in the Premier League again," Ogbene shared with TownTV.

He added, "I’ve had very positive chats with the manager, and for someone to believe in me that I could play at this level again means a lot to me and my family."

Ogbene, originally from the Republic of Ireland, began his career with Cork City and Limerick before moving to Brentford in 2018.

Following a loan period at Exeter City, he joined Rotherham United in 2019, where he made over 130 appearances.

His performances at Rotherham earned him a move to Luton Town in 2023, where he scored four goals in the Premier League last season.

Reflecting on his move to Ipswich, Ogbene stated, "I know what the manager wants from me and the role I will play. I’m here to be a positive addition to the squad as we look to achieve our goals."

He also emphasised the importance of seizing this chance, saying, "It’s an opportunity I had to grab with both hands and I can’t wait to be involved as soon as possible."

On the International stage, Ogbene has also earned 20 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
