Brighton and Hove Albion have announced the signing of Turkish international Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahce.

The 24-year-old full-back has joined on a four-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 2028.

Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton’s men's first-team head coach, expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition to the squad.

"I'm very excited because we are getting an excellent player and a great character. He has great ability, is a strong runner and very good at passing," Hurzeler said.

"He is predominantly a full-back and can play on the right or left side; he can also play in the centre of midfield," Hurzeler added.

"He is someone who is very keen to learn and develop, and with that in mind I’m confident he will adjust to the Premier League and adapt quickly to English football."

Born in Arnhem, Kadioglu started his professional career with NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands, making his debut in 2016 after more than eight years in their youth system.

He went on to make 70 appearances for the Eredivisie club before moving to Turkey with Fenerbahce in 2018.

Over six seasons in the Turkish Super Lig, Kadioglu featured in over 200 games and scored 18 goals for Fenerbahce.

Internationally, Kadioglu had the choice of representing Turkey, the Netherlands, or Canada.

After playing for the Netherlands at various youth levels, he decided to commit to the Turkish national team in 2022.

Since then, he has earned 20 caps and was a player for Turkey at Euro 2024, where he played every minute as they reached the quarter-finals.
