Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili to join Liverpool next summer
Liverpool have announced the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, with the Georgian goalkeeper set to join the club for the 2025-26 season. It is the first signing by Arne Slot since becoming manager.
Mamardashvili, 23, will remain with his current club, Valencia, for the rest of the ongoing season before moving to Anfield next summer.
Having accumulated 21 international caps for Georgia, Mamardashvili is expected to continue his development in La Liga, where he has been a regular starter for Valencia since his transfer from Dinamo Tbilisi in 2021.
The young goalkeeper has already made 102 appearances for the Spanish club, keeping 31 clean sheets in all competitions.
Mamardashvili featured for Georgia at Euro 2024, where his side reached the Round of 16. His 21 saves in the group stages were the highest in the tournament, matching the record for the most saves ever made in the group stage of a Euro competition.
Liverpool currently have Brazilian International Allison and Irish International Caoimhin Kelleher on the goalkeeping books.
