Blackburn sign Liverpool left-back on season-long loan
Blackburn Rovers have secured the services of Owen Beck, a left-back from Liverpool, on a loan deal for the 2024-25 season.
22-year-old defender Beck has been with Liverpool since the age of 13. He climbed through Liverpool’s youth system and made a name for himself with four appearances in the EFL Trophy.
Beck made his senior debut for Liverpool in a 2-0 win against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup in October 2021. He also featured in the club's quarter-final victory over Leicester City.
The young Welshman has gained experience from multiple loan spells over recent seasons. After a brief stint in Portugal with Famalicão, Beck moved to Bolton Wanderers for the 2022-23 season.
There, he made nine appearances and experienced defeat just once. His progress continued with a loan at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership, where his performances earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
Beck also made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in January, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 victory against Bournemouth.
Reflecting on his move to Blackburn, Beck expressed his readiness for the new challenge, saying, "I’m excited to be here at Ewood Park and can’t wait to get started in the Championship."
