LSL Senior Sunday wrap: Bangor Celtic strike late to defeat Wayside Celtic as Kilbarrack edge past Bluebell United

Bangor Celtic scored twice in second half injury time to claim an unlikely three points against Wayside Celtic in their LSL Senior Sunday season opener yesterday.

The Crumlin outfit trailed 3-2 heading into the closing stages before winning the clash 4-3 at the Transport Club.

Ognjen Lovic handed John Scott’s side the lead after two minutes but Wayside reacted well and were ahead by the 27th minute with Darragh O’Connor and Lewis O’Neill sending them ahead.

And Ross Zamabra’s side even went 3-1 in the clear with Cian Fay netting just seconds into the second half.

But Bangor rallied and halved the deficit a minute later via Ryan Carberry.

While it looked like Wayside were going to hold out and claim a second win on the spin, they were undone by two late goals.

Troy Stedman initially levelled in the 92nd minute before Shane O’Keefe won it two minutes later.

Meanwhile, Kilbarrack United went top of the table following a narrow 1-0 triumph over Bluebell United at the Red Cow.

Jimmy McHugh scored his third of the season to seal it.
