Ipswich Town sign Jack Clarke from Sunderland
Ipswich Town have announced the signing of Jack Clarke from Sunderland, marking their 10th acquisition of the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old winger joins the club on a five-year contract. Clarke, who began his career at Leeds United, made an impact during his time at Sunderland, scoring 28 goals in 114 appearances.
His initial loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur was made permanent in 2022 after successful stints at QPR and Stoke City.
Jack Clarke expressed his enthusiasm about the move, saying, "I’m really excited to have joined the club and can’t wait to get going."
He praised Ipswich's recent progress and the club's strategic recruitment, adding, "Ipswich have been on a really good trajectory over the last few years, and the recruitment this summer has been very impressive."
Clarke also highlighted his positive conversations with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, which further solidified his decision to join.
"Speaking with Kieran McKenna really sells the club and the journey it’s on, as well as what they’re still trying to achieve," he shared.
"You’re almost silly if you don’t want to jump on board with the way things have been going."
Looking ahead, Clarke aims to make a dynamic impact at Ipswich Town.
"I try to be an exciting player and contribute goals and assists, so I think the style of football here will suit me," he noted.
"I just feel excited to meet the lads and get started now."
