Norwich City have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Oscar Schwartau from Danish club Brøndby IF.

The young attacking midfielder has agreed to a four-year contract with an additional option year and will don the number 29 shirt at Carrow Road.

Schwartau made headlines early in his career by becoming Brøndby's youngest ever player at just 16 years and 61 days in July 2022. A month later, he became the club's youngest goalscorer.

During his time with Brøndby, Schwartau made 46 appearances and scored six goals, in both domestic and European competitions.

Reflecting on his move to Norwich, Schwartau expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career.

"It's a big moment for me. I'm very grateful for this opportunity," he stated.

"Coming to this big club, it's a nice place to be so I'm very happy. I'm very excited, it's going to be different moving to another country but I'm looking forward to it."

Norwich City's sporting director, Ben Knapper, also spoke highly of the club's new acquisition.

“Oscar is one of the most exciting talents in Danish football, and we’re delighted to be able to bring him here to Norwich City,” Knapper said.

“Despite being just 18 years old, he already has some great experience in senior football, in both domestic and European competition. We are sure that in our environment, we can continue to develop him to realise his full potential."
