League Report: Longford Town 2 - 2 Kerry

Longford Town snapped a five-game losing streak in all competitions with an entertaining 2-2 draw at home against Kerry.

The Red and Black remain four points behind the Kingdom at the foot of the table.

And they will be disappointed that they were unable to win after taking the lead heading into the closing stages of the game.

But Conor McCarthy’s side took the lead in the first-half through defender Ethan Kos.

The American rose highest to head in a Cian Brosnan corner-kick after just 12 minutes.

Longford, however, equalised 10 minutes later when Francis Campbell bundled the ball into the net after some good work from Mohamed Boudiaf.

Wayne Groves’ side then pushed on and took the lead in the second half for the first time with Boudiaf scoring a fine goal following a Shane Elworthy cross.

But just five minutes later Kerry were level as Ryan Kelliher netted from a low cross.

And that was how the game finished, with neither side able to claim all three points.
