Newport County have secured the loan of Kieron Evans from Cardiff City for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

22-year-old midfielder Evans began his journey with Cardiff City's academy at the under-8 level and made his senior debut on September 12, 2021, in a 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest.

His career has also seen him gain experience through loan spells at Linfield and Torquay United, and he played a role in Gateshead’s FA Trophy win at Wembley during the second half of the 2023-24 season.

Most recently, Evans featured for Cardiff City in their Carabao Cup win over Bristol Rovers. Now, he is set to wear the number 17 shirt for Newport County and is eager to make a significant impact.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Evans said, “I’m delighted to be joining the club. I had several offers from Football League clubs, but I felt Newport County was the right move for me."

He added, “I believe the style of football will suit my game. It’s a different philosophy from last season and I am really excited about trying to make my mark.”
