Charlton Athletic sign Jamaica international Kaheim Dixon
Charlton Athletic have bolstered their squad with the signing of Jamaican international Kaheim Dixon.
The 19-year-old forward joins the club from Arnett Gardens, a team in the Jamaica Premier League.
Having already made eight appearances for Jamaica, Dixon has scored twice and was a part of the Reggae Boyz squad at the recent Copa America, where he played alongside Charlton midfielder Karoy Anderson.
The young forward, who hails from Trench Town in Kingston, has penned a four-year deal with the Addicks.
This transfer marks the eighth signing of the summer for manager Nathan Jones.
Dixon expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, “I’m very happy to be here. My first opportunity to go professional is to be at the Addicks. It’s been very good to see Karoy [Anderson], another teammate from my country. I can’t wait to start playing with him!”
Jones praised Dixon’s potential and talent, revealing that the club had been monitoring him closely.
“Kaheim is a young, exciting talent that we have been keeping an eye on for several months, watching his progress and how he has done in the Jamaican national team alongside Karoy. We’re looking forward to working with him, developing him and making him a better player,” Jones said.
Before making his move to England, Dixon had a college career at Clarendon, where he played a role in helping his team secure multiple titles. His impressive record of 32 goals and 17 assists during his college years set the stage for his swift transition to the national team.
