UCD

FAI Cup quarter-finalists UCD host Finn Harps looking to back up their third-round win over Sligo Rovers last weekend at the UCD Bowl on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Students were deserved 2-0 victors over the Bit O’Red last time out and they have since been drawn to face Bohemians in the last-eight of the cup.

But they will be keen to secure their play-off spot in the coming weeks before facing the Gypsies next month.

The Sky Blues, however, are in good form and will be confident of achieving that having seen off Bray Wanderers (1-0) and Longford Town (3-0) recently.

FINN HARPS

Finn Harps know they must snap a four-game league losing streak if they are to pull themselves back into play-off contention.

The Donegal side have lost to Wexford (0-2), Bray Wanderers (1-2), Treaty United (0-1) and Cork City (0-1) in recent weeks.

In fact, their last victory arrived against Kerry last month and their previous victory before that was a 1-0 success over Wexford at the end of May.

Darren Murphy’s side are now seventh in the table and three points behind fifth-placed Wexford.

The club have also confirmed that Stephen Doherty has left the club this week.

Meanwhile, Matthew Makinson will miss out on the trip to UCD with suspension.

Referee: Ryan Maher.
