Nottingham Forest sign Álex Moreno on loan from Aston Villa
Nottingham Forest have added to their squad with the loan signing of Álex Moreno from Aston Villa.
The 31-year-old Spanish full-back joins Forest until the end of the season, with the club holding an option to make the move permanent.
Moreno's arrival follows a solid season with Aston Villa, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions, playing a role in their qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Before his stint in the Premier League, Moreno played in La Liga, featuring 127 times for Rayo Vallecano and 122 times for Real Betis. His time at Betis saw the club secure the Copa del Rey in 2022.
In January 2023, Moreno transferred to Aston Villa. He managed three assists in 19 Premier League appearances. In total, he made nearly 50 appearances for the Villans.
Ross Wilson, Nottingham Forest’s Chief Football Officer, expressed his satisfaction with the signing: “Álex is a player we have had a long-standing interest in, so we are naturally all very happy to see him arrive at Nottingham Forest today. He has amassed significant experience in La Liga and the Premier League, and he brings all of that quality and experience to our group now.”
