Chelsea secures Joao Felix on permanent transfer from Atletico Madrid
Chelsea have confirmed the permanent signing of Portuguese forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old, who previously enjoyed a loan spell at Stamford Bridge, has committed to a seven-year contract with the Blues.
Felix expressed his enthusiasm about returning to Chelsea, where he had a positive experience during his previous stint.
"I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started," said the Portuguese player.
"I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice."
Reflecting on his earlier time with the club, Felix added, "I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day. To do that with Chelsea is a great feeling and I’m excited to be back."
During his loan spell at Chelsea in the 2022/23 season, Felix made 20 appearances and found the back of the net four times.
Felix began his professional journey with Benfica, where he made a name for himself before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a record-breaking transfer fee.
Over his career, he has won league titles in both Portugal and Spain and has earned 41 caps for the Portugal national team since his debut in 2019.
