Portsmouth sign midfielder Abdoulaye Kamara from Borussia Dortmund
Portsmouth have bolstered their squad with the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Abdoulaye Kamara from Borussia Dortmund.
The young talent, originally from Guinea, has committed to a four-year contract with the Championship club.
Kamara, who began his career at Paris Saint-Germain, where he played three age groups above his own, joined Dortmund in 2021.
At the German club, he gained valuable experience at the under-23 level, but is now set to take on a new challenge in English football.
Portsmouth manager John Mousinho expressed his excitement about the new signing, emphasising Kamara's potential and his suitability for the Championship.
"He’s an extremely promising young player who arrives with plenty of pedigree, having been at Dortmund and PSG before that," Mousinho said.
"We think he’s ready for Championship football and can really kick-start his career with us, so we’re delighted to have him here."
Mousinho further highlighted Kamara's attributes, noting, "He’s a powerful and combative midfielder who can handle the ball well – he’s right up there in terms of his athleticism and game understanding. It’s a brave step for Abdoulaye to come over and look to prove himself in England and I’m excited to start working with him."
