Shamrock Rovers play the second leg of their third qualifying round of the Europa League against NK Celje in Tallaght on Thursday night (kick-off 8pm).

They trail 1-0 from the first leg in Slovenia.

Where can I watch the match?

Tickets for the match in Tallaght are selling like the proverbial hot cakes with the Hoops having already sold out the South and West stands. 

The high ticket demand means the Hoops are going to sell tickets to home supporters for the East Stand – with a small section for away fans also located there.

Tickets will be available for both the North (family) Stand and the East Stand with adults €20, seniors and students €15 and under 12s €8 right up to kick-off.

There were 7,632 spectators at the 2-1 win over Vikingur in the first round and a record European crowd for Tallaght of 9,684 in the last round against Sparta Prague.

Can I watch the match on TV?

No but you can watch George Clarke's Remarkable Renovations on RTÉ 2 at 8pm.

George meets Peter and Julia, who ran their local post office. Now the business has closed, they are renovating the building.



Is the match online?

Yes, while the match is not being shown by RTÉ or Virgin Media, you can watch the game in Ireland and around the world via a SolidSport stream.

The winners of the tie will move on to the Europa League play-off where they will come up against PAOK who lost in the Champions League third round to Malmo 6-5 on aggregate after extra-time.

Rovers played PAOK in the Europa League group stages back in 2011 - losing 2-1 away and 3-1 in Tallaght.

The loser of this week’s Europa League third round qualifier will drop into the Conference League play-off where they will face a long trek to play the winners of the contest between Ordabasy of Kazakhstan and Pyunik of Armenia. Pyunik won the first leg 1-0 in Kazakhstan.

How much money is at stake?

Both sides have essentially already banked €1.71 million for at least guaranteeing themselves a place in the play-off round and if they go on to claim Conference League group stage football that will bring their earnings up to a minimum €3.87 million (plus additional five year and ten year rankings UEFA prize money that could add close to another €1 million for Shamrock Rovers).
