Fleetwood Town have officially secured the services of Irish forward Mipo Odubeko on a permanent one-year contract.

The 21-year-old striker joins the club after a diverse career path that began at Manchester City before moving to Manchester United's Academy.

Odubeko later caught the attention of West Ham United, who signed him in 2020.

During his time with the Hammers, he inked a three-year deal, staying with the club until the summer of 2023.

His journey in professional football has seen him go on loan to clubs like Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers, and Port Vale, where he amassed a total of 35 goals in 81 appearances, spanning League One and various cup competitions.

The young striker's most recent stint was with Portuguese second-division side Maritimo. After becoming a free agent this pre-season, Odubeko attracted interest from several EFL clubs before ultimately deciding to join Fleetwood Town.

Odubeko now becomes the seventh signing for Fleetwood this summer under manager Charlie Adam.

He is set to wear the number 20 shirt for the upcoming 2024/25 season and could make his debut against West Bromwich Albion at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday night.

The forward, who was born in the Republic of Ireland and is of Nigerian descent, has represented Ireland at various youth levels.

Odubeko made his debut for the Republic of Ireland's under-21 team in March 2022, where he also scored his first goal in June of the same year.
