Tottenham Hotspur have finalised a deal with AC Milan for the transfer of Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal. The 25-year-old, who has been with Spurs since August 2021, leaves the Premier League side after making 101 appearances and scoring four goals during his tenure.
Emerson Royal initially joined Tottenham from Barcelona and made his debut in September 2021 during a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. His century milestone in appearances for Spurs was achieved in May 2024 when he featured against Liverpool at Anfield.
On an international level, Emerson has earned 10 caps for Brazil since making his senior debut in November 2019.
AC Milan confirmed the transfer stating Emerson has committed to a contract with the Italian giants until 30 June 2028, with an option for an additional year.
Emerson Royal began his football journey in his hometown of São Paulo, Brazil. He came through the youth ranks at Ponte Preta, making his first-team debut in February 2017. His early career also saw him play for Atlético Mineiro before moving to Europe with stints at Real Betis and Barcelona.
