Stade Rennais have added to their midfield with the signing of 20-year-old Jordan James.

James becomes the third midfield recruit of the summer for the Brittany-based club, following the arrivals of Albert Grønbaek and Glen Kamara.

James debuted for Birmingham City in 2021. He was named Birmingham City's Young Player of the Season in his debut senior campaign. Last season, he played in 42 matches, scoring eight goals.

On the international stage, James initially played with Wales' youth teams and later with England’s U20s. However, James ultimately chose to represent Wales, his father’s country, and has since earned 11 caps, including participation in the Euro qualifiers.

Upon joining Stade Rennais, James expressed his excitement about the move, stating, "I am thrilled to join Stade Rennais F.C., an ambitious and great club. This is a perfect opportunity for me, and I’m very excited. I can’t wait to play with my new teammates and experience French football and Ligue 1. I’m ready."
