Chelsea have secured the services of Portugal international Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the 24-year-old signing a seven-year contract.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Neto said, "I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt."

Neto's football journey began in the youth ranks of Braga, where his talent quickly came to the fore. He made his first-team debut at just 17 years old, scoring in a 4-0 victory over Nacional. This achievement made him the third-youngest scorer in Braga's history.

Following a successful two-year loan stint at Lazio, during which he won the Coppa Italia, Neto's move to the Italian side was made permanent before he transferred to Wolves in August 2019.

At Wolves, he made an immediate impact, scoring and assisting on his debut in a 4-0 Europa League victory over Pyunik. Neto's consistent performances secured him a regular spot in the Wolves lineup, where he made 135 appearances and contributed to 11 goals in 20 Premier League matches last season.

In addition to his club success, Neto has also established himself on the international stage with Portugal, earning ten caps. His most recent appearance for the national team was during this summer’s European Championship.

In other news, Chelsea defender Caleb Wiley has completed a season-long loan move to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The 19-year-old, who recently joined the Blues from Atlanta United, represented the USA at the Olympic Games in Paris.
