West Ham United secure Jean-Clair Todibo on loan from OGC Nice
West Ham United have confirmed the signing of French international defender Jean-Clair Todibo on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer of 2025.
24-year-old Todibo, who has been capped twice by France, made his senior debut with Barcelona at just 19 and has since accumulated over 150 first-team appearances across Europe.
Having demonstrated his defensive prowess in Ligue 1, Todibo played a role in helping Nice reach the Coupe de France final in 2022, the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals in 2022/23, and secured two fifth-place finishes in Ligue 1 over the past three seasons.
Speaking about his move to West Ham, Todibo expressed his excitement at joining the Premier League club.
"It is a dream come true to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world," he said. "This is an amazing opportunity for me, at a club with huge ambition, who want to really make progress under the new Head Coach. I’m so excited to pull on the West Ham shirt and play at the London Stadium."
West Ham’s Sporting Director, Tim Steidten, praised Todibo’s ability to quickly adapt to the demands of the Premier League, noting the significance of the signing for the club.
"This is another significant signing for the Football Club and shows the attraction of West Ham for top players in Europe," Steidten said.
"Jean-Clair is a player we’ve been tracking for some time, and we’re delighted to have got this signing over the line."
