"I’m delighted we have been able to bring Jordan to Grimsby Town. He’s a terrific player and we believe he’ll be an excellent acquisition for us," Artell said.
"We originally spoke to Phil (Parkinson) about Jordan towards the end of last season and he’s been someone we have targeted since then."
Artell also acknowledged the competition for Davies' signature, stating, "We’re really pleased we have been able to attract Jordan to the club and beat off a lot of competition."
Davies shared his enthusiasm about joining the Mariners, emphasising his eagerness to get back into regular action.
"It feels brilliant to be here. I’ve been speaking to the Gaffer over the past couple of weeks, so I’m delighted to get it over the line," Davies said.
"I think the club’s a perfect fit for me to get back into the rhythm of playing games week in, week out and I’m looking forward to getting started."
