Defender Aaron Anselmino joins Chelsea, returns to Boca Juniors on loan

Chelsea have confirmed the acquisition of 19-year-old defender Aaron Anselmino, who will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Boca Juniors.
Anselmino has committed to a seven-year contract with Chelsea. Despite this long-term commitment, he will initially continue his development in Argentina.
The young centre-back began his football journey in the youth systems of Juventud Unida and Sportivo Realico before joining Boca Juniors at 12.
He signed his first professional contract with Boca on 10 June 2023, making his first-team debut against Lanus the same day.
Anselmino has since made ten appearances for Boca, marking his first senior goal in April with a winning strike in the Copa Sudamericana group stage against Trinidense.
