Etienne Green joins Burnley on three-year deal from Saint-Etienne
Burnley have secured the services of goalkeeper Etienne Green on a three-year contract from Saint-Etienne. The 24-year-old becomes the sixth new signing for the Clarets this summer as they prepare for the 2024/25 season.
Green expressed his excitement about joining Burnley, saying, “It feels great to be here. I can’t wait to meet the team and get training & playing with them.”
The English-born keeper, who moved to France at the age of four, has always aspired to play in England.
“I have always wanted to play for an English club, so to be here at a club like Burnley with the rich history is amazing. I’m excited and it really is a dream come true,” he added.
Green began his youth career at ES Veauche in 2006 before joining Saint-Etienne’s academy in 2009. He progressed through the ranks, eventually signing his first professional contract with the French club in 2020. His senior debut came in a win against Nimes, where he impressed by keeping a clean sheet and saving a penalty.
Green has over 35 Ligue 1 appearances under his belt.
