Manchester City’s Susoho moves to Peterborough United on loan
Peterborough United have secured Manchester City midfielder Mahamadou Susoho on loan until the end of the season.
19-year-old Susoho, who recently returned from Manchester City’s pre-season tour in the United States, arrived in England late on Monday to complete the move.
Manager Darren Ferguson expressed his excitement about the signing, stating, "I am delighted to get him. It was tied up a while ago, but we were just waiting on Manchester City in terms of the dates. He was either going to join us or go on tour with City and that is what he did."
Ferguson highlighted the midfielder’s potential impact, noting, "I think he is a big signing for us, he is a really good player as you would expect. We have a very good relationship with Manchester City, so there were other clubs in for him, but we met, I presented how we play and how we see him fitting in and to be fair, after that he agreed to come."
Susoho’s addition aims to bolster Peterborough's midfield options, especially following the summer departure of Jeando Fuchs and the injury to Ryan De Havilland. Ferguson added, "We felt we needed a bit more depth in there. We have now got five because Donay O'Brien-Brady has really stepped up. The boy is a good player."
Susoho shared his enthusiasm for the loan move, saying, "I want to get out of my comfort zone and I feel this loan move will allow me to do that. I would describe myself as good in possession, calm and someone who can help the defence and the attack."
The young midfielder made his UEFA Champions League debut for Manchester City last season against Red Star Belgrade and was on the bench for their match against Real Madrid.
