Eve Jannets joins Manchester City from Reading
Manchester City have officially signed 18-year-old goalkeeper Eve Annets, an England youth international, from Reading.
Annets, who developed through Reading's academy, will stay with City until the summer of 2028.
Last season, Annets earned her England Under-19 debut, playing a full match in a 5-0 victory over Denmark.
Reflecting on her move, Annets expressed her excitement:
"It feels amazing. I mean a club like this, to hear they’re interested in you is just a feeling that can’t be matched."
She continued, "City is a great club and it’s probably one of the best in the world to be at for a youngster who wants to grow. There’s nothing better."
Highlighting her Manchester roots, Annets added, "My family are from Manchester. My parents both born and raised here, so I’m keen to grow and learn in the city."
Head Coach Gareth Taylor also commended the young goalkeeper:
"Eve is a talented young player. It’s clear she’s someone who wants to learn and raise her game even further."
Annets' past year has been eventful. She made her professional debut in October 2023 during Reading's Continental Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Her first home appearance came three months later against Arsenal. At just 17, she also received her England Under-19 call-up.
As she joins Manchester City, Annets will be working alongside experienced goalkeepers Khiara Keating and Sandy MacIver, providing her with ample opportunities to learn and develop under Gareth Taylor’s guidance.
